Pika Embeds Its Full Creative Studio Inside ChatGPT
Pika has integrated its complete suite of generative media tools directly into ChatGPT, allowing creators to produce and edit multimedia content without switching applications.

Pika has launched a new extension that embeds its entire creative suite directly within ChatGPT's interactive side panel. Powered by OpenAI's Plugin Extensions framework announced on September 29 and built on the open Model Context Protocol (MCP), the integration grants users access to over 40 image, video, and audio applications backed by more than 100 generative models. Once a user completes an initial media generation through the embedded system, Pika awards 250 free credits to their account.
The embedded workspace allows creators to draft concepts in chat and immediately call Pika using desktop composer tags like @pika. Instead of relying solely on text prompts, users can adjust settings using clickable presets, fine-tune timeline clip timing, add transitions, and layer background music inside the dedicated side panel. Asset synchronization works bi-directionally, ensuring media created inside ChatGPT automatically saves to the user's permanent Pika library. Although one third-party developer reported over 2,000 percent growth after building on the framework, OpenAI is rolling out web extensions in stages, meaning Free and Go plan subscribers must wait for access while desktop app users utilize the features.
For media creators and developers, this launch demonstrates a hybrid workflow pattern that combines conversational prompt design with dedicated visual editing controls. Rather than forcing complex spatial tasks—like timeline adjustments or precise parameter tweaks—into textual chat prompts, the system handles complex instructions via purpose-built UI controls while letting underlying AI models handle tool execution across external MCP servers.
