Orange Business adopts LangChain for enterprise AI platform
Orange Business built its Live Intelligence AI platform on LangChain and LangSmith, bringing enterprise-wide agent orchestration and governance to 120,000 staff and over 150 client organizations.

Orange Business, the B2B division of telecommunications giant Orange Group, has deployed its flagship Live Intelligence AI platform across 120,000 internal employees and more than 150 enterprise clients in France and Europe. To avoid an estimated 12 to 18 months of internal engineering required to construct orchestration and monitoring tooling from scratch, Orange Innovation selected LangChain and LangSmith after assessing roughly 20 major cloud and specialized AI providers. The company prioritized model neutrality, workload portability, and compliance with European data sovereignty laws.
The system operates through three primary layers designed for different user roles. Live Intelligence Studio allows AI engineers to build cross-system workflows using an LLM-as-a-Service model catalog hosted on public clouds and internal infrastructure, alongside agent builders powered by LangSmith Fleet, Model Context Protocol support, and orchestration tools. Live Intelligence Portal acts as the primary interface for business users across HR, legal, software, and IT helpdesk teams to execute governed workflows. Meanwhile, Live Intelligence Console gives administrators centralized policy enforcement, usage monitoring, and security controls. Governance is further streamlined through an Agent Registry that leverages LangSmith Context Hub for prompt versioning across environments, and an MCP Registry that regulates tool access to Microsoft 365, internal APIs, and CRMs.
To ensure reliability, Orange Business executes a 3-layer evaluation strategy covering Retrieval-Augmented Generation accuracy, agent behavioral metrics like tool selection and prompt injection resistance, and production trace monitoring for latency and cost. Running pre-deployment regression tests on trace datasets helps engineers isolate failures within complex execution trees. For AI practitioners, this infrastructure demonstrates how centralizing authentication, governance, and tool registries at the platform level frees individual development teams from re-architecting security foundations. Looking forward, Orange Business plans to automate multi-agent enterprise processes, including end-to-end insurance claim workflows and port security sensor monitoring for emergency responders.
